Child Protection Training
HOSTED BY BREAKING THROUGH
Tuesday 25th September 2012
Courtyard Hotel, Leixlip, Co Kildare
Child Protection training based on the most recent version of Children First 2011
Both options give participants an understanding of current legislation in child protection.
Training Session A (Morning 9.30-1.00)
A half day training for people who have previously completed child protection training prior to the completion of the new guidelines. It is a more in depth look at issues around child protection. This training is interactive where participants are given an opportunity to consider scenarios and case examples. This session is most suitable for people working directly with children and young people.
The training will be relevant and current, including media coverage of recent high profile cases and practice examples.
The trainer is also open to specific requests for child protection related training, for example in dealing with disclosures.
Training Session B (Afternoon 2.00-4.30)
A half day child protection awareness raising training suitable for workers and volunteers who have not previously completed child protection training. This is also suitable for people who do not work directly with children but who may for example receive historical disclosures of abuse.
Prior booking is essential
